STUDY GRANTS FOR THREE DEGREE
THESES DEDICATED TO NETWORKS OF TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION
OF ELECTRICITY AND GAS
To contribute towards research into
new management and technological systems in the sector
of energy networks, the Organising Committee of Sinergy
has decided to offer three Study Grants that will be
assigned to university students intending to present
their degree theses no later than July 2005.
The prizes will be awarded, together
with a presentation of the winning theses, during Sinergy
2005, to be held at Rimini from 9th to 12th November
2005.
The Study Grants will be for 1.000,00 euro each.
The research areas that will be taken
into consideration are as follows:
- New models of organization of companies
and/or of services
- The Italian energy market and European
integration
- Liberalisation, tariffs, prices
and quality of energy services
- Safety in supply of services in
the context of deregulation
- From monopolies to market: the
role and effects of competition
- Prospects and methods for the development
of electricity generation
- Integrated management of electricity
and gas users
- Management of transport, electricity
and gas networks, also with respect to the European
Union
- New frontiers of measurement and
the quality of service
- Monitoring, automation and remote
control for energy networks
- The efficient use of energy
- The titles of the theses proposed
must be accompanied by a detailed overview of the
research to be pursued and the objectives to be achieved.
- Candidates must have their entries
countersigned for approval by their responsible
professor,
and entries must reach the Organising Committee no
later than 30th June 2004.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
Entries will be examined by the Organising Committee
of Sinergy.
The committee will select, at its sole discretion, the
three proposals for theses that are deemed to be most
worthy of merit.
The winning theses will be selected no later than 30th
June 2004.
Winners will be immediately notified by registered mail
and e-mail.
The three winners must inform the Organising Committee
of progress on their theses no later than 31th January
2005, and must present their completed theses to the
Organising Committee by 30th September 2005.
The scientific contents of the winning theses will be
illustrated during Sinergy 2005.
PRESENTATION OF ENTRIES
Entries must comply with the example that can be downloaded
from this website, and must reach the Organising
Committee
no later than 30th June 2004.
Entries must be complete with:
- descriptive report on proposed
thesis and research project to be implemented;
- curriculum vitae and list
of examinations taken;
- any other documents necessary
to illustrate the merits of the proposed project;
- declaration of consent from
professor responsible for thesis.
